Swifted is a marketplace connecting owner van drivers and independent couriers with customers who need reliable transport and delivery services. To maintain trust, safety, professionalism, and service quality, all couriers using the Platform must follow this Code of Conduct.
By accepting jobs through Swifted, couriers agree to comply with these standards in addition to all applicable laws, regulations, and platform terms.
All couriers using Swifted operate as independent self-employed service providers. Nothing in this Code creates employment, worker status, agency, or partnership with Swifted. Couriers remain fully responsible for: • Their own taxes, insurance, licensing, and business obligations • Their vehicle, fuel, maintenance, and operating costs • Compliance with road transport laws and local regulations • Deciding when and whether to accept available jobs (subject to platform rules)
Couriers must conduct themselves professionally at all times. This includes: • Being polite, respectful, and courteous to customers, recipients, staff, and the public • Communicating clearly and honestly • Acting reliably and responsibly • Representing themselves in a clean, professional manner • Avoiding aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behaviour Swifted has zero tolerance for harassment, intimidation, hate speech, or misconduct.
When accepting a booking, couriers agree to complete it to a professional standard unless prevented by genuine emergency or unavoidable circumstances. Couriers must: • Only accept jobs they can realistically complete • Arrive on time for collections and deliveries • Notify customers promptly of delays or issues • Avoid repeated cancellations after acceptance • Follow agreed collection and delivery instructions Repeated no-shows, late arrivals, or cancellations may result in suspension or removal.
Swifted is a van-only platform. Only vans are permitted to operate on the Platform. Cars, motorcycles, bicycles, mopeds, scooters, lorries, or any other vehicle type are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination. Accepted van types are: • Small Van • Medium Van • Large / Long-Wheelbase (LWB) Van • Luton Van All vans used on the Platform must be safe, roadworthy, legal, and suitable for the jobs accepted. Couriers must ensure: • Valid MOT (where required) • Current road tax • Appropriate insurance including hire/reward or courier cover where legally required • Safe tyres, brakes, lights, and load security • Clean and presentable vehicle condition Swifted may request evidence of compliance at any time.
Couriers must obey all laws while operating on the Platform. This includes: • Highway Code and road traffic laws • Speed limits • Seatbelt laws • Mobile phone laws while driving • Weight/load limits • Parking and access restrictions • Health & safety requirements Drivers must never operate under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance impairing judgement.
Couriers are expected to handle all items with reasonable care. Couriers must: • Secure loads properly • Protect goods from damage, theft, weather, or contamination • Follow any handling instructions provided • Refuse unsafe, illegal, or prohibited items • Report damage immediately Couriers must not open, tamper with, use, or remove customer goods.
Where possible, job-related communication should take place through Swifted systems. Couriers must: • Keep status updates accurate • Respond to reasonable customer messages promptly • Use respectful language • Avoid misleading information Couriers must not harass customers for direct work or pressure users to transact off-platform.
Couriers must act honestly in all commercial dealings. Couriers must not: • Demand extra payment outside agreed terms • Misrepresent mileage, delays, damages, or delivery status • Create fake accounts or false reviews • Manipulate ratings or jobs • Share accounts with others Any fraud or dishonesty may result in immediate termination and legal action.
Each courier account must only be used by the approved registered user. Couriers must: • Keep login details secure • Maintain accurate personal and vehicle information • Notify Swifted of material changes • Not allow substitutes without written platform approval Identity verification may be required.
Couriers may receive access to customer names, addresses, contact details, and delivery information. Couriers must: • Use customer data only for completing the booked job • Keep all information confidential • Not store, sell, share, or misuse customer data • Dispose of paperwork securely Any misuse of personal data may lead to removal and reporting to authorities.
Couriers must provide services fairly and lawfully without discrimination based on race, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, or any protected characteristic.
Swifted may use ratings, complaints, reliability metrics, response times, and conduct history to maintain marketplace quality. Couriers are expected to maintain acceptable service standards. Repeated poor service may lead to: • Warnings • Temporary restrictions • Reduced platform visibility • Suspension • Permanent account removal
Couriers must report serious incidents promptly, including: • Road traffic accidents during active jobs • Theft or loss of goods • Damage to items • Threats or violence • Police involvement • Safety concerns Couriers remain responsible for their own insurance claims and liabilities unless otherwise agreed.
The following may lead to immediate suspension or termination: • Fraud or theft • Violence or threats • Drug/alcohol impairment while working • Dangerous driving • Repeated job abandonment • Misuse of customer data • Account sharing • Criminal use of the platform • Transporting prohibited or illegal goods • Serious reputational damage to Swifted
Swifted may investigate complaints and platform misuse. Where appropriate, Swifted may request evidence, statements, documents, or explanations. Swifted reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Platform where necessary to protect customers, other couriers, or the marketplace.
Swifted may update this Code of Conduct from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised standards.
By registering for or accepting jobs through Swifted, couriers acknowledge they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
